1. Free dance
According to a study published in UCLA Health last August 2021, a free dance movement or what is often known as free-flowing dance showed positive results on the mental state of the participants.
This study was conducted on 1,000 dancers around the world who experienced depression, anxiety, or have a history of trauma. 98 percent of them said that dancing can improve their mood.
The participants also revealed that the free dance gave them more confidence and created feelings of love in their hearts.
2. Choreographed dance
Studies in journals Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience reveal other distinct benefits. This one study compared the benefits of walking, stretching, and dancing.
Dance country was chosen in this study and used elderly participants aged 60 to 70 years. Participants were previously noted to have healthy brains and did not show any cognitive impairment.
