The Underwater Core of the Republic of Indonesia is naturally tilted, what causes it?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The core of the earth under the Indonesian sea is reported to be experiencing gentle growth. This is the latest discovery by scientists from the United States (US) while studying seismic waves that pass through the planet’s dense iron core.

According to seismologists from the University of California, the earth’s core in the Indonesian region is tilted, namely the solid iron core in the center of the earth grows faster under the Indonesian Banda Sea.

Meanwhile, the core of the earth in Indonesia is also said to lose heat faster than other regions such as Brazil. This event resulted in faster cooling due to the crystallization of the core constituent iron.

“The only way we can explain is that one side is growing faster than the other,” said Daniel Frost, lead author of the study from the University of California.

It is known that the earth’s core is about 3,000 kilometers below the earth’s surface. This part is round and contains iron and nickel. Above the Earth’s core is the mantle, which consists of the inner mantle (300-2,890 km below the earth’s surface) and the outer mantle (10-300 km below the earth’s surface).

The outermost layer is the earth’s crust. Another fact, this event has occurred since 500 years ago. However, no one knows why the cooling process occurs faster in Indonesia.

The discovery of the earth’s core in Indonesia which loses heat more quickly led scientists to new conclusions, about why iron crystallization is more inclined to the west (Banda Sea) than to the east (Brazil). Researchers say there is asymmetrical growth, which is 60% higher to the west side.

However, this asymmetrical growth does not mean there will be a record or other risk that will unbalance it. Even so, Frost said there are still other mysteries to be solved.

“The question is, does this change the strength of the magnetic field?” she says.

The earth’s magnetic field is a geomagnetic field that extends from the interior of the earth to the point where the magnetic field meets solar radiation. Simply put, Earth’s magnetic field reflects most of the solar wind, which is a stream of charged particles from the sun that are able to ionize (break down) in the Earth’s atmosphere.

The compass that humans use depends on the earth’s magnetic field. Animals also use the earth’s magnetic field to migrate.

Frost said it would soon conduct research again to discuss this. According to him, his team has started working on new research with the geomagnetic team to investigate some of the mysteries of the tilted growth of the core.
