The organizers of the fight on Monday issued a statement saying that Meivezers will be in the ring again during the “Mega 2021” event in Tokyo on February 28 next year. However, the organizers did not reveal with whom and under what conditions the fight is planned.

Last week, the 43-year-old boxer, who announced the end of his career three years ago, posted a video on Instagram on the social network revealing when he will return to Tokyo next year.

“I know there are Olympic Games in Tokyo next year, but I and my team have something else in mind. Japan – I’m on my way,” Meivezers said.

Earlier, Meivezers indicated that he will return to the ring this year, but it is safe to say that this will not happen. Meivezers also visited Tokyo two years ago, when in his last fight he won the master of mixed martial arts (MMA) Tenshin Nasukava in the first round.

The Internet boxer later revealed that he had earned nine million for a two-minute fight ASV dollars (7.6 million euros).

A year earlier, he returned to the ring to fight MMA star Irish Coror McGregor. Meivezers won the tenth round.

Both boxers competed in weight up to 69.9 kilograms. The duel did not take place on any of the world champion belts, but the most prestigious boxing organization, the World Boxing Council (WBC), it had made a special ‘Money belt’ for the winner.

During his boxing career, Meivezers has won all 50 fights.
