For a rare time this season, the sluggers of the Capitales de Québec struggled to shine, Wednesday in Pomona. The “Caps” lost 6-1 to the New York Boulders.

No less than six pitchers filled the mound for the crowd favorites and none of them worked more than two and two-thirds innings. This bet seems to have paid off, as only Alex Mack allowed Pedro Gonzalez to homer late in the game.
Andrew Hammond (1-0) scored his first win of the season.
David Vinsky put the game out of reach for the Capitals in the seventh inning with a three-run homer off Joel Huertas. Just before, Steven Figueroa made it 3-0 with a two-run single.
John Witkowski (3-1) allowed just one earned run on seven hits in three innings, but took the backhand.
Patrick Scalabrini’s men had won the first duel of the three-game series on Tuesday.
The Eagles crash late in the game
In Ottawa, the Trois-Rivières Aigles could not resist a push from the Titans at the end of the game and bent their spine 9 to 7.
The crowd favorites scored three runs in the sixth inning, before adding two in the seventh to seal the game. Rodrigo Oroczo had a stellar game, driving in four runs and hitting a homer.
James Bradwell (1-2) added a loss to his record, but Sam Belisle-Springer struggled badly as a starting pitcher. He allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits in five-and-a-third innings.
Gavin Sonnier (3-0) added a win to his record, while Kevin Escorcia picked up his eighth save of the season.
