The UN Security Council meeting on Gaza ended without a statement

The UN Security Council has discussed the situation around the Gaza Strip, but has not adopted any common document at this stage. SIA reports with reference to TASS that the participants of the meeting informed about this after the end of the meeting.

“We did not discuss the general statement because no one proposed any text,” Malta’s permanent representative to the UN, Vanessa Frazier, told reporters.

He added that the discussion focused on what the parties can do to protect civilians and stop the violence in the current situation.

Robert Wood, the deputy US representative to the UN, noted that “the members of the Security Council agreed that these attacks should not happen.”

“Let’s hope that the situation will not get worse. We will do everything in our power to prevent the spread of tension,” added Wood.
