The Deputy Secretary General of the UN expressed concern about new reports of violations of the ceasefire in Donbas.
UN Deputy Secretary General Rosemary DiCarlo at the UN Security Council statedthat tensions in and around Ukraine have reached their highest level since 2014.
“Very often there are statements regarding a potential military conflict. Whatever we think about the prospects for such a confrontation, the reality is that the current situation is extremely dangerous,” DiCarlo said.
She expressed concern about new reports of ceasefire violations in Donbas.
“We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint. We also call on all parties to abandon unilateral decisions that undermine the Minsk agreements, including regarding the status of ORDLO,” the UN Deputy Secretary General said.
Earlier it was reported that the UN Security Council discussed the situation at the borders of Ukraine.
Recall Ukraine appealed to the UN Secretary General and to all Member States in connection with the decision of the Russian Federation to block part of the waters of the Black and Azov Seas under the pretext of exercises.
