The so-called UN mission in Nagorno-Karabakh discredits the world organization as an institution, wrote X (formerly Twitter) Armenian Ambassador at Large Edmon Marukyan.
“I look forward to a UN investigation into the activities of these ‘representatives,’” the diplomat noted.
According to him, UN staff who recently arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh “did everything possible to legitimize ethnic cleansing, arbitrary detentions, destruction of civilian infrastructure and other crimes committed by Azerbaijan.”
“These guys discredit the UN as an institution,” Marukyan believes.
As reported EADaily, the UN mission led by the organization’s permanent coordinator in Azerbaijan last Monday summed up the results of its one-day work in Nagorno-Karabakh. In a released statement, international observers note that, according to their data, between 50 and 1 thousand Armenians remain in Nagorno-Karabakh and express their own shock at “how suddenly the local residents left their homes.”
