Here is an appointment always awaited in the capital of Flanders ! It is this Saturday, June 10, 2023 that the Big Braderie in Vieux-Lille (North)ses good deals and his animations. The point on what awaits you there.

500 exhibitors expected in the Saint-André district

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with nearly 500 exhibitors expected: individuals, local merchants and professionals. They will be installed mainly on rue Saint-André but also on 9 other streets and squares in the district:

• Collegiate Street,
• concert square,
• rue du Pont-Neuf,
• Archives Street,
• archive square,
• hall street,
• rue du Metz,
• St. Sebastian Street,
• Place Saint-André.

You will of course find plenty of bargains there, but also entertainment and concerts throughout the neighborhood as well as various games and competitions.

For the occasion, the restaurant La Luck is also once again organizing its race for waiters. Servers, room managers and maîtres d’hôtel were invited to participate. With a tray and 4 glasses filled with tinted water, you have to run as fast as possible without spilling your glasses. Participants will have to take a tour of the neighborhood via rue Saint-Sébastien, then rue Saint-André until they return to the starting point. Meet at the intersection of rue du Metz and rue Princesse at 10 a.m. to watch the race.

Note that this year, the organizers have invited exhibitors (individuals and traders) to dress up in a vintage costume.

The flea market of traders and Shopping Party

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., there will also be a clearance sale for the merchants of L’Ilot Comtesse. It will take place rue de la Monnaie, Place Louise de Bettignies and Place du Lion d’Or. The streets will be pedestrianized for the occasion. The merchants of the three streets will make a sale at the unpacking in front of their shop.

Finally, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Union Commerciale Ile Mode is organizing its first party for merchants, the “Shopping Party”. This festival will allow you to shop in a festive atmosphere on rue de la Clef, Place des Patiniers and rue des Arts. The merchants of the three streets will also participate in an unpacking sale. They will set up their stand in front of their shop and will offer good deals, only new ones.

To liven up this merchants’ party, two musical events are planned for the duration

of the event :

– The Sound Bike: a solar-powered scooter with an on-board sound system;

– Electro, disco, rock’n’roll or funky, Johnny & Wallace will take you into their quirky universe.

Floral arrangements from the florist Des Fleurs par Jean Louis (located Place des Patiniers) will be installed in the rue des Arts. For rue de la Clef, 30 poles will be decorated by Manou (her first name Maëlle), an artist from the “Le nouveau lieu” collective in Lille.

“Beyond the barriers”, finally, Manou will offer an ephemeral invitation to a colorful poetic getaway. The creations to be discovered were made by recycling old posters of the Lille Opera
