Refugees from Ukraine, accommodated in the BDZ hotel in the resort of Panichishte above Sapareva Banya, are ready to return to the sea.
Panichishte is bored. According to them, civilization is on the Black Sea coast.
On Thursday, five people left for Ukraine, and yesterday eight new ones were admitted to the hotel, struma.bg writes.
The mother from Zaporozhye with her young child is calm in Panichishte, far from the war
“I would like to return to Nessebar and start working there as a real estate broker – what I did before coming to Bulgaria. I can’t complain about the food here, the service is good, the hotel staff is kind, but it’s empty here. We are at the hotel all day. We take walks, but there are no people. The shop is far away, about 2 km. If I have the opportunity, I would return to Ukraine, where I have a home, relatives, friends…
Ukrainians walk to the only store
Before I decided to go to Bulgaria, it was scary, there was shooting everywhere, you don’t know when a rocket or a bullet will hit you. I hope the war is over and I return home, “said Anna, a real estate broker from Odessa.
Ukrainian refugees in Panichishte
The 15-year-old 8th grade student Vova from Lviv is also looking forward to returning home to her two sisters and her father, who is currently caring for them. He said: “Before we ran away, a bomb fell on our house. Everything was shaking. I was at home with my sisters. I experienced great horror. I talk to my dad on the internet every day. Here, in Panichishte, I am with my mother.
We are afraid for my two sisters and for my father – how are they, are they healthy? We are fine here. I want to go back to Ukraine, go to school again and it’s all over, “Vova said.
Children play in front of the hotel, turning their backs on bomb and shooting stress
Nastya, a math and IT teacher, lacks nothing in Panachishte, but she is worried about how the refugee children will go to kindergarten or school in Sapareva Banya.
“The question of how and where to see a GP is not settled. In order to admit the children to kindergarten, they want a health card, and so do the students. Nobody tells us anything. As far as I understand, there are only two GPs in Sapareva Banya. I guess we can sign up in Dupnitsa for a family doctor.
The day before, the social workers from Dupnitsa came to help us fill in our documents in Bulgarian for one-time financial assistance. In order to buy the necessary things from Sapareva Banya, we have made an organization. Five people go down every day by minibus of the hotel to Sapareva Banya and buy food and medicine according to a list. We need a washing machine, hand wash. Volunteers promised to bring us a washing machine. We are not complaining, but some things are not well thought out, in time they will stick together “, concluded Nastya.
She mentioned that they help themselves when needed.
Among them is the mother of a 1.5-year-old child and an older boy of 9. The uncle is still not enrolled in school. “We collect money from each other to provide diapers for the baby and puree,” says the mother. She is adamant that she would accept someone to help her.
“My money is running out. I no longer have diapers and food for my little son. I am from Zoporozhye, when the shootings started, I took all my savings and left for Bulgaria with my two children. My husband stayed there. We hear each other on the phone every day. I want to work to have more money, but I have a small child and there is no one to take care of him, “the woman is worried.
A mother of three worries about the eldest of them, who is currently in the army defending Ukraine. Here is what she said: “Before I came to Bulgaria, I worked as a shop assistant. If I find a job, I’m ready to work. If I can’t find it, I’m ready to return to Ukraine. My eldest son is in the army and I want to be close to him. Here in Bulgaria, there are no bombs, no fear. There is calm, even if there are some inconveniences, we are still far from the bullets.
The only thing that is not satisfactory in Panichishte, at least for me, is that we do not have a doctor, but a doctor had to come. The hotel manager called an ambulance and the ambulance arrived quickly in 9 years. Sasha, who was vomiting and upset. Two women had raised their blood pressure, and an ambulance arrived on the scene. It was not a difficult case, but we are calm that an ambulance comes immediately when necessary.
I am from Nikolaev. A fierce war was being fought 20 km away from us before I decided to leave for Bulgaria. It was terrible, a great fear for the lives of my children, my family. My eldest son is in the army, but we talk almost every day and that calms me down. I look forward to his call. That’s why I don’t have time to pay attention to trifles – whether my room is well cleaned, what I will eat during the day – at least there are no explosions and bombs here, “said the Ukrainian.
Among the refugees is masseur Vladimir from Odessa.
The only shop in Panichishte is located about 30 minutes walk from the hotel, but is well stocked with pastries, ice cream, chips, detergents… Prices are not high because of the refugees.
Owners of hotels in Panichishte have asked the manager of the BDZ hotel to organize a meeting between the refugees and them with the intention of offering them jobs as maids and other support staff in their hotels. In this way, those fleeing the war will be able to earn money to provide themselves with additional food and clothing.
The holiday season in Panichishte started on Thursday.
