The Ukrainian national team beat Kazakhstan and reached the next stage of the World Cup – Sport.ua

On Sunday, December 3, the Ukrainian women’s handball team played its third match at the World Championships. The opponent is the Kazakhstan national team. Both teams lost the first two matches of the world championship. In the first round, the Ukrainians lost to the Brazilian national team with a big score – 20:35. In the second match, the “blue-yellows” lost to Spain – 20:32. In turn, the Kazakhs lost to the Spaniards with a score of 17:34, and to the Brazilians – 15:46. Accordingly, Ukraine and Kazakhstan decided in a personal meeting which of them would take third place and advance to the next stage of the World Cup.

The Ukrainians seized the advantage from the first seconds and led with a score of 3:0. In the middle of the half, the Kazakh women tried not to be inferior to their opponents in terms of effective actions and during a certain period of time the difference in the score did not exceed 3-4 goals. However, in the final third of the first half of the match, the players of the Ukrainian national team attacked and defended better than the Kazakhs, which allowed them to increase the advantage and go to the break with the score 19:12.

The second half followed approximately the same scenario as the first. At the beginning, the Ukrainians were more active and more accurate, then the initiative passed to the representatives of Kazakhstan, and at the end of the match our girls increased their advantage to 13 goals.
