Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman for the diplomatic department, noted that Russians often blame others for what they themselves plan to do.

The speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko, reacted to the statement of the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, about an allegedly impending radiation provocation in Pridnestrovie. In a Twitter post by a diplomat on March 1 wrotethat “provocation” is a fake, and statements about it are propaganda.

Nikolenko noted that Ukraine strictly adheres to the agreement on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons.

Russia’s claim that Ukraine received radiological materials for a ‘provocation’ is a fake. Ukraine is strictly committed to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons,” the diplomat wrote.

According to Nikolenko, such statements should not be trusted, since the Russian authorities often blame others for what they themselves plan to carry out.

“Don’t be fooled by the textbook of Russian propaganda. Russians often blame others for what they themselves are planning,” Nikolenko stressed.

Recall, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said on March 1 that radioactive materials were allegedly delivered to the Ukrainian ports of Odessa and Chernomorsk through the “grain corridor”. According to Zakharova, components of a “dirty bomb” were brought to Ukraine in order to carry out a provocation in Transnistria.

On March 1, official Chisinau reacted to Zakharova’s accusations and stated that they could not confirm the allegations of the Russian side. In a message from the Moldovan government, it was said that state institutions do not confirm the information disseminated by Moscow.
