The investigation launched by the State Investigation Bureau of Ukraine in the case against Yanukovych and nine other former officials regarding the Maidan events in 2014 was concluded already in November 2021.
It was recognized that 76 people lost their lives and more than 800 were injured as a result of the activities of this organized crime group.
All the accused have now been sentenced to remand. The judge also set a deadline until which the defense of the former president can get acquainted with the data of the pre-trial investigation. This indictment will then be sent to the court.
Yanukovych, who was also previously convicted of treason, is still in Russia.
