The Ukrainian counterattack does not achieve the desired success..a fact that has become clear to Western countries that have continued to support Kiev..and despite the Ukrainian President’s announcement of expanding the counterattack, progress on the ground was limited and collided with staunch Russian fortifications in the defensive lines, which have so far succeeded greatly in obstructing Ukrainian progress.
A US diplomatic official confirmed that there are fears of entering the winter season without achieving significant progress, which may affect the amount of Western support for Ukraine.
The diplomat also warned of the repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis on the American political scene, especially with the file turning into an important axis in the tensions between current US President Joe Biden and his rival, former President Donald Trump.
