The Ukrainian army advanced in Toretsk and Pokrovsk, the Russian army – at Chasov Yar, Kursk and Kurakhovo

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) notes the progress of Ukrainian troops at Toretsk and Pokrovsk and Russian troops in the Kursk region and at Chasov Yar, Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo, reports “Ukrainian truth”.

As ISW notes, Ukrainian forces have regained territory in Toretsk amid Russian offensive activity in the area. Geolocation images published on October 15 show that Ukrainian forces have recently regained positions in the center of Toretsk.

At the same time, it is noted that on October 16 and 17, Russian troops continued offensive actions near Toretsk, south of Toretsk near Nelipovka, west of Toretsk near Shterbinovka, and west of Toretsk. south of Toretsk near Sukhaya Balka.

ISW also notes that Russian forces have recently advanced southeast of Pokrovsk and that Ukrainian forces have recently advanced east of Pokrovsk. Photos released on October 17 show that Russian forces operating south-east of Pokrovsk recently won a victory east of Lisovka (west of Novogrodovka), captured the sewage treatment plant west of Novogrodovka and that they advanced along a wind break southwest of Selidovo.

However, geolocation photos released on October 17 show that Ukrainian forces have regained secondary positions near Nikolaevka (east of Pokrovsk and west of Grodovka).

Meanwhile, in the Kursk region, Russian troops have advanced to the western side of the Ukrainian bridgehead. Geolocation images released on October 17 show that Russian troops have moved south along the Green Road (southeast of Korenevo).

ISW also reported Russian troop advances within and southeast of Chasov Yar, as well as east of Kurakhovo.
