The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Controversial Tactic: ‘Live Demining’ and the Deployment of Human Soldiers in Russian Minefields

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are throwing human beings into Russian minefields so as not to waste time training sappers. This was told by the deputy head of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School, Hero of Russia, Colonel Rustam Saifullin. He called this method of combating mines the tactics of “live demining” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The enemy throws more and more [людей]. To prepare a sapper, to study so many options and types of mines, you need a decent amount of time. Here they are just throwing our minefields with corpses – “live demining”, when people are simply torn to pieces. They do not regret,” said Saifullin in an interview with RIA Novosti. According to him, the Ukrainian army suffers heavy losses due to the fact that the Russian Armed Forces detect enemy fighters in time.

Earlier, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named a large number of Russian mines. The American newspaper The New York Times, referring to the words of Ukrainian marines, reported that the Russian Armed Forces use new tacticsby setting minefields on fire.
