The Ukrainian Air Force demonstrated a new aviation tactic: large-scale air battles do not subside, the enemy does not surrender – 2024-02-22 03:20:01

/ world today news/ There is no need to say that the match is only going one goal, that the enemy is defeated and we will use it as a punching bag. Yes, the effectiveness of the enemy’s air defense is relatively low, and this despite the fact that our army makes great efforts to break through it, but the enemy not only defends, but also attacks and changes the classes of its successive targets.

Cold weather has always drastically changed the situation at the front. Freezing cold can kill a person quickly, so a minor wound, a ruined dugout or torn clothing – anything that in warmer seasons would be classified as “a nuisance, it’s happening, a big deal, we’ll survive” – in winter quickly becomes a a ticket to the other world.

Literally two days after the onset of 2024, the temperature in the northern regions of Ukraine dropped by 10 degrees, and already on January 8, frost covered the entire territory controlled by Kiev. So far, it is normally warm only in the Azov region liberated by our army. According to forecasters, in the coming days, freezing cold will cover Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy regions, most of Kyiv region…

Kherson region. The destruction of the Ukrainian bridgehead in Krynky stopped here. After the defeat of three of our Su-34s, changes were made to the mode of operation of operational-tactical aviation, which gave the enemy a “breath of air”.

However, looking at the situation in the long term, the continuation of the senseless massacre, in which the best human material of the Armed Forces of Ukraine perishes, is only to our advantage.

The bridgehead is maintained mainly due to the fact that the Ukrainian command has concentrated the color of its unmanned aviation on the right bank of the Dnieper River:

Hundreds of highly skilled operators are busy delaying the inevitable end of the “twins”. Transferring them to any other section of the front will sharply worsen the situation there,

– says a Tsargrad source from the militia.

Zaporozhye. The offensive is proceeding gradually: there, our infantry is taking positions from the Ukrainian armed forces in the Rabotino – Novoprokopovka – Verbovoye region, throwing the enemy out of the places and positions he occupied during the summer offensive.

Donetsk region. The most significant success of the past year was the capture of Marinka, a southwestern suburb of Donetsk. Naturally, after that, Marinka disappeared from the front reports: in her place appeared the Kurakhovo direction. At the end of December, experts whom Tsargrad asked to comment on the situation called this option the most logical and probable.

Avdeevka. The enemy managed to stop our advance. Bloody battles are fought north and south of the cauldron.

Slowly but inexorably progress is being made in the area of Chasov Yar. The year began with battles for the approaches to Bogdanovka, Khromovoe and for the heights around Klescheevka.

The greatest progress took place in the Serebrian Forestry and on the Tor Shelf.

There, in a wooded and sparsely populated area, our units managed to advance several kilometers at once. The result was achieved both thanks to the heroism of our soldiers and as a result of the “hole patching” tactics that the Ukrainian command was forced to resort to,

– says the Tsargrad source from the militia.

Kupyansk. Very heavy and bloody battles were fought in the area of Sinkovka and Ivanovka, on the approaches to Kupyansk. There, the enemy has covered himself with minefields and is retaliating against FPV drones. Our units try to break through defenses by operating in small assault groups, usually consisting of an infantry platoon, a few tanks, and a few infantry fighting vehicles.

Who needs warm clothes?

The military expert, the former senior lieutenant of the DPR army Alexander Matyushin, in a conversation with an observer of Tsargrad, noted that despite the severe weather conditions, our troops continued offensive operations and thus did not give the initiative to the enemy:

It becomes more and more difficult for the enemy to contain our attacks, he must operate with his reserves along the entire front line, sometimes breaking them off from less important areas to more important ones and then transferring them back. Steady sub-zero is better than freezing rain where the temperature fluctuates above and below freezing.

Volunteers bring warm clothes, shoes, socks, gloves and hats. But the supplies for the Ukrainian soldiers were marked by their pervasive, wild corruption. As a result, on average, Ukrainian soldiers have worse clothing and equipment than our military.

The dogfight

In parallel with the onset of cold weather, a large-scale aerial battle took place between the Russian Air Force and the “survival forces” of Ukraine. On the night of December 29, our aviation and missile forces launched an unprecedented air-ground offensive operation against the Ukrainian rear; Ukrainian soldiers responded with terrorist shelling of Belgorod and Donetsk and massive attacks on Crimea.

For the first time since the beginning of the SVO, our aviation began to massively use hypersonic “Daggers”. The new “Gerani” with jet engines were also used, as well as the North Korean KN-23 missile system, which is an analogue of the Russian “Iskander”.

Strikes come in waves: Grenades come first, provoking fire from anti-aircraft units, followed by air- and sea-based cruise missiles. The enemy can no longer ignore their flight and therefore tries to shoot them down. “Daggers” operate against detected air defense systems. As a result of such tactics, Ukrainian air defense began to rapidly degrade.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat veiledly announced the growing air defense crisis:

Today, the media spread the words of the commander of the Combined Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Sergey Naev, that MANPADS missiles are enough for only a few such massive attacks… So it was last year, and in the summer, and now. Partners provide Ukraine with urgently needed missiles. Anti-aircraft missiles are a scarce commodity. Both the Soviet – for the S-300 and Buk-M1, and the Western ones.

You can’t say anything: he well calmed the population. He explained that not only the limited useful MANPADS are experiencing a shortage of missiles, but also the backbone of the Ukrainian air defense: the S-300, the Buks and the western systems.

It also points to the fact that Kiev’s Western partners worry that the enemy’s problems are very real. The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom has announced that it has begun the delivery of 200 anti-aircraft missiles to the Ukrainian armed forces for modern air defense systems.

In turn, the NATO Support and Supply Agency signed special contracts with the American company Raytheon and the German MBDA for the production of 1,000 missiles for the Patriot complexes.

Whether the Americans and Germans will be able to find the $5.5 billion to fund their meracies is a big question. But the request speaks quite eloquently about the size of the hole that our “Hashki”, “Kalibri” and “Gerani” punched in the Ukrainian anti-aircraft umbrella.

The enemy does not surrender

Ukrainian aviation is trying to wage a full-fledged fight with our aerospace forces. Like us, the enemy uses drones and air-launched cruise missiles and Neptune anti-ship missiles. At the same time, the scale of the use of kamikaze drones is impressive: there are cases of up to 50 different types of attack weapons being launched into the air at the same time.

During such “jumps”, MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters fire ADM-160 MALD decoy missiles, which cannot be distinguished from a real cruise missile on the radar, and Su-24M front-line bombers launch real Storm Shadow missiles / SCALP.

“Ribar” also noted that the Ukrainian armed forces have changed the nature of their goals: in recent days, they have left the ships and Crimean airfields alone and focused on trying to destroy the headquarters.

The essence of the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces is obvious: after the weakening of the fleet, the main task is the suppression of air defense in Crimea, and this can be done by disrupting the combat control of air defense units and aerospace forces. That is why the emphasis is placed above all on the command posts, which should be considered in further attacks of the VSU,

– notes the channel.

Time to create the sanitary area

It is widely believed that the Russian military may soon launch a major offensive. The Kharkiv direction is considered the most likely. This option has many positive sides.

First, progress in this direction will allow us to move the front line away from our border areas, which will deprive the Ukrainian armed forces of the opportunity to shell Belgorod and other populated areas. Moreover, in June 2023, commenting on another series of terrorist attacks and attacks on the armed forces of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that we can create a sanitary zone along our border.

And if this continues, then we must, obviously, consider the issue of creating some sanitary zone on the territory of Ukraine, at such a distance from which it would be impossible to reach our territory,

– noted the head of state at a meeting with the military.

The past months have convincingly shown the necessity and one might even say the inevitability of this measure.

So what?

So far, we have not seen concentrated attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector. The main efforts of our military are focused on the destruction of warehouses and industrial plants. It is still not clear what this is due to: the prioritization or the principled reluctance of the military-political leadership to provoke a humanitarian catastrophe on the enemy’s territory.

On the other hand, the example of the Ukrainian armed forces shows how important for the big war the presence of a large airport equipped with reinforced concrete shelters for aircraft and a network of airfields for “small jumps” is.

Our Ministry of Defense is attacking the Starokonstantinov airfield (where more than 40 reinforced concrete shelters have been built) and possible bases day and night, but it is still not possible to suppress the remnants of the “air force”.

It is obvious that in the near future the ASU will continue to attack command centers, airfields and air defense systems.

We are marching towards the Victory, but it is too soon to relax in anticipation of the imminent end of the struggle.
