The British authorities have imposed sanctions against 46 individuals and legal entities in connection with the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine, the press service of the British government reports.
According to the press release, more than 30 companies and individuals associated with the production of drones and missiles, as well as the import of electronics, were sanctioned.
In particular, the chief designer and owner of the Zala Aero company, which produces the Lancet drones, Alexander Zakharov, as well as his wife and children, were subject to restrictions.
The sanctions also included the companies Orion and Aeroscan, owned by Zakharov’s relatives, which, as Important Stories wrote, supply components for the production of drones.
In addition, the UK imposed sanctions on the Soyuz plant, which produces engines for the X-22, X-59 and Caliber rockets, as well as its chief designer Mkrtich Okroyan and his relatives.
Other Russian companies were also subject to restrictions, for example, Votkinsk Machine-Building Plant, the Radar mms enterprise and Radiotekhkomplekt. The British authorities also imposed sanctions against people and companies associated with the Wagner PMC, including the Rusich sabotage and assault reconnaissance group and its commander Yana Petrovsky.
In addition to them, the UK authorities included in the sanctions lists a number of companies from Serbia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, China, the UAE and Belarus, which help Russia circumvent sanctions.
Last time UK introduced sanctions against Russia on November 8. Then the restrictions included the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Russian National Reinsurance Company, the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, and the gold mining company Nord Gold.
