Unlike other countries, these data include victims who have not been formally tested positive for Covid-19.

Figures from British regional statistical agencies show a toll of 32,313 deaths, of which Covid-19 is the suspected cause indicated on the death certificate. The current toll is probably much heavier, as these figures relate to deaths recorded until April 24 for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (393), and until April 26 for Scotland. The latest report from the Ministry of Health, which includes only hospital and nursing home deaths of patients tested positive for Covid-19, was 28,734 died on Monday.
International comparisons should, however, be handled with care. “Not all countries remember the same thing about the dead”, says British government medical counselor Chris Whitty. “I do not believe that we will have a clear verdict on each country before the end of the pandemic and especially before having complete international data on mortality from all causes”, for his part reacted the British Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dominic Raab.
