• During the first year of his administration, the rector Guillermo Mendoza Cavazos managed to increase the number of supports granted to the student body.
On April 21, the rector of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT), CP Guillermo Mendoza Cavazos, will render his first work report, and among the main achievements of his administration is having increased the scholarships awarded to his students.
During the first year of his management at the head of the UAT, the rector Guillermo Mendoza promoted the scholarship programs that managed to benefit more than twenty-two thousand students —more than 50% of the student body—, ensuring the training of professionals who seek social progress and economic of his community.
With this, the rectory administration fulfills its commitment to strengthen support for young people and prevent them from leaving their studies for economic reasons. In addition, the effort of the students is promoted so that there are no limits and they can continue with their academic life.
Among the goals of his management, the rector Guillermo Mendoza Cavazos has raised the importance of training agents of change that contribute to society; hence the importance of continuing to encourage young people through support that translates into scholarships.
In this sense, the UAT grants its students different supports, among which are the New Enrollment Scholarships, aimed at students with a high academic average; the UAT Excellence Scholarships, for the best averages of the different careers of the university; and the COVID-19 Orphan Scholarships, whose purpose is to help students who are going through this situation, so that they do not abandon their studies for financial reasons.
Among other educational stimuli, more recently, support was implemented to completely waive the degree payment for those young people whose averages are of academic excellence.
It should be noted that, with these and other actions, the UAT promotes the academic development of its students, but also seeks to train them in different productive, cultural, sports and artistic areas, to provide them with better cognitive tools, as well as skills that allow them to compete in the current job markets.
