His Highness praised the exceptional efforts of the work team at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, and what they provided over the past six months for the success of the mission of Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi on the International Space Station, and following up on the details of the longest space mission in Arab history, which culminated in his safe return to the homeland. .
His Highness said: “With the completion of the Sultan Al Neyadi mission in space, we succeed in completing another mission within the plan of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, in accordance with the path drawn for us by the vision of our wise leadership to achieve leadership in all areas of space.”
His Highness added: “The mission of Zayed Ambition 2 is another start for the center towards new achievements that will be achieved according to the strategy that we have adopted… and Sultan Al Neyadi’s achievement today is the achievement of an integrated work system of our distinguished Emirati cadres, which we believe is the basis of our success and excellence.”
His Highness said: “I thank all those affiliated with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, who dedicated their work and continued their efforts to ensure the success of the longest space mission in Arab history… and other space achievements, God willing.”
He stressed that this historic mission will be followed by new achievements in the field of space. He added: “We will continue to provide scientific contributions in cooperation with the global scientific community with the aim of enriching human knowledge. The UAE will remain a ray of science that serves humanity and spreads hope for a better future for the Arabs.”
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the UAE in the space sector through its contribution to developing the national space sector, supporting the sustainable national economy, investing in national competencies and cadres, and striving to achieve leadership for the country in the field of space, its applications, explorations and peaceful uses.
The achievements of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center contributed to placing the UAE among the active countries in the field of space and its sciences, and its contribution was one of the most important components that helped achieve the country’s qualitative achievements in the field of space exploration, including the arrival of Hazza Al Mansouri to the International Space Station as the first Emirati astronaut to land on board. And sending the “Hope Probe” on a historic journey to explore the planet Mars, where these achievements were achieved according to a clear vision, plans, programs, a scientific and practical approach with specific features, and a precise time plan.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center designed and built the KhalifaSat satellite, which was launched in 2018, as the first entirely Emirati satellite and the most advanced of the satellites sent by the UAE into space.
