Retailers in the UAE will be legally allowed to increase the price of eggs and poultry by up to 13 percent. The decision came after retail companies demanded an increase in the prices of eggs and chicken due to cost of production and international exports.

The ministry said it will review the price hike after six months and either change the price or cancel the decision. The Ministry of Economy stated that the increase in the price of eggs and poultry products in the UAE is in accordance with the provisions and rules of the Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection.
