Dubai, October 17 / WAM / Fadi Pharaoh, President of Ericsson Middle East and Africa, said: “The UAE is a pioneer in adopting 5G technology and offering it to consumers and industries alike.”
He added in statements to the Emirates News Agency during the GITEX 2023 events: “Reports show that the UAE ranks first in the world in the performance of 5G networks, and this will be the basis for what will come in the coming years, as new devices will appear in different shapes and may be in the form of glasses, but they are able to communicate with… the network”.
He stressed that the region, especially the UAE, is one of the most important markets in which the company operates, pointing out that the UAE market is witnessing massive investment in technology and artificial intelligence from all parties.
He added: “We have been here since 1976, and our business is witnessing momentum year after year, speaking about the company’s significant investment in research and development as well as in local competencies through student graduation and training programs.”
Pharaoh explained: “At Ericsson, we focus on providing many solutions, especially 5G technology, pointing to cooperation with the two main telecommunications companies in the country, which are Etisalat and Du.”
Regarding the capabilities of 5G, Pharaoh pointed out that Ericsson’s pavilion at GITEX shows the forms of the new generation of revolution related to 5G technology, indicating that the new technology will make our lives different and our interaction with many events and services completely different from our previous experiences, pointing out that this technology will allow spectators in the stadium Football, for example, can do multiple things through their smart devices, such as choosing their favorite viewing angle or getting live match statistics.”
He pointed out the importance of what new technologies will provide, such as augmented reality and virtual reality, anticipating a great spread of these technologies in light of the spread of fifth generation networks.
