The U19 men’s team from Córdoba, finalist in the Argentine Hockey Championship

With an ideal score, the Córdoba men’s team closed the group stage as leader of Zone “A” of the Argentine Under 19 Championship and earned a place in the final of the competition that is played in Tucumán. This Saturday, with a historic result, they beat Buenos Aires, the two-time champion, 4-2, and finished the qualifying phase with four wins in as many appearances. On Sunday, from 4 p.m., they will star in the final against Mendoza, who finished as the best in Zone “B”.

The kids quickly managed to take the lead on the scoreboard when after three minutes Fermín Heredia deflected an assist from 25 yards from Nicolás Rodriguez into the goal; However, the score did not stop there and at the same stage (five minutes later) Lorenzo Somaini achieved the rival’s equalizer from the penalty spot. At six, Santiago Fernández put the metropolitans in front of the result.

Córdoba did not give up and looked for the match knowing that it was key to Argentino’s goal of reaching the final.

In the span of three minutes during the third quarter, the kids were precise and turned history in their favor; At three, Joaquín Costa scored the goal after a pass from the right and three minutes later, Lautaro Busto took advantage of a rebound in the area and sent the ball into the net for the Córdoba team’s bouquet celebration.

In the same quarter Bruno Manno Gorosito (on the official scoresheet they noted it against Francisco de Olmos) scored the remaining goal for Córdoba; a flick long shot from the left that the defense did not contain and the scorer surpassed the defense and the goalkeeper for a half turn that left him facing the celebration for the Córdoba quartet.

The other semifinal will be played by Mendoza and Litoral from 8:40 p.m.
