The decision of the administration of U.S. President Donald trump on the extension of the agreement with Russia on strategic offensive arms (start-3) depends on the fulfillment of three requirements Washington. Conditions called the Wall Street Journal with reference to a source from among the official representatives.
According to the publication, trump may agree to extend the contract, if the parties will achieve progress in the inclusion of new strict measures of verification, if it will take into account all the nuclear warheads and also in case of accession of China.
The source expressed doubts that such requirements of the head of state will be final.
June 22, Russia and the United States discussed in Vienna the renewal of the Contract on reduction of strategic offensive arms. During consultations were discussed including maintaining stability and predictability in terms of termination of the Agreement on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range after the US.
The contract on reduction of strategic offensive arms (start-3) was signed in 2010 by then presidents of Russia and the USA Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama. The agreement came into force in 2011 and his term expires in February 2021-th.
