The TWR Supercat: A New Iconic Car Unveiled Based on Jaguar XJS

Have you ever thought that the world will only be flooded with electric cars as part of the news? Anyway, in this transitional period, another car appeared, which in the context of modern times is considered vulgar.

The Grand Tourer TWR Supercat is built on the iconic base Jaguar XJS, however, offers, for example, a carbon fiber body shell inspired by the history of TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) racing cars. Historically, they also won Le Mans and the 24-hour race in Spa, but the team also participated in the Formula 1 series.

The TWR Supercat is based on the Jaguar XJS.

On the vehicle, you will find references to Jaguar XJR-9, XJR-12 or the legendary Jaguar super sports XJ220. And the Supercat’s powertrain matches that.

It will be an unnamed engine yet, but definitely with two-cylinder gasoline power, with an output of more than 600 horsepower. The six-speed manual transmission then sends torque to the rear wheels.

The displacement of the V12 engine has not been revealed, but we expect something big.

Thanks to the use of lightweight materials, the model promises flexibility and analog steering, and it should also reflect the direction that Tom Walkinshaw Racing will take in the future.

Were you intrigued by Supercat? So prepare eight million crowns with British value-added tax and be quick, because the capacity is limited to 88 units of these amazing grand tourers, which, incidentally, refer to the year 1988 , when the TWR stable won the aforementioned. Le Mans. We’ll learn more later this year, when the car makes its dynamic debut.
