The split in the DPS reached a new phase, after today’s consultations for the selection of members of the Burgas Regional Election Commission led to mutual accusations of illegitimacy.
All parliamentaryly represented groups were invited to the Regional Administration, which led to an unwanted meeting between the people of Delyan Peevski and Ahmed Dogan.
The municipal councilor from Pomorie, Hristo Shirokov, who a few days ago left the DPS group in the local parliament, led the representatives of the new beginning in the party. On the other side stood the people supporting the honorary chairman, led by Mehmed Hamid, who is the regional chairman of DPS.
The first to speak was Hamid, who proposed Emine Ilyaz as secretary of RIC, and Gemma Myumyunova as member.
Yazka immediately asked to take Shirokov, which prompted Hamid to declare: “I am the legitimate representative! The regional chairman of the DPS and I have come with the deputy regional chairman!”
“I am authorized by the chairman of the parliamentary group. I have a power of attorney and these gentlemen must respond. You are excluded from the parliamentary group” replied Shirokov.
He also made his own proposals for RIC members. For vice-chairman and Nathalie Hristova Shirokova and Georgi Georgiev for member.
The deputy regional chairman of the DPS Ruzhdi Hadjen took the floor and said that today’s consultations are attended by representatives of the political formations, not those of the individual political groups in the National Assembly.
„I don’t know who exactly the gentlemen represent. As far as I understand those who are excluded from our party” he said.
„I am here as a representative of the parliamentary group. I am not from the excluded group and I hope the CEC will take this into consideration. I cannot answer how many sheets there will be. Now there are registrations before the CEC. Only they know what decision will be made. I will participate in the elections personally as an organizer” , Shirokov told the reporter.
The consultations themselves for members of the RIC were also charged, after two people were proposed for the position of chairman.
GERB requested that it be Fani Semerdzhieva, and Vazrazhdane Ivan Ivanov. The two political formations also entered into a dispute over the position of secretary. Due to the lack of understanding, the CEC will decide the structure of the Regional Election Commission.
