Ranchi: The first Twenty20 match against New Zealand will be played in Ranchi today. The Indian team is coming in with the confidence of sweeping the ODI series 3-0. All-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the team as players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested. Suryakumar Yadav is the supporting actor. Under the leadership of Pandya, India won the recent Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka by 2-1.
Shubman Gill, who has scored a century in three of the last four matches in ODIs, may step into the role of opener. Prithvi Shakh may also get a place in the team. In the absence of Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan will be the wicket keeper. Along with captain Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Shivam Mavi and Yuzvendra Chahal will be included in the team.
