A love story, the one between the top manager and the worker of a provincial factory, which ended badly. In fact, very badly. As reported by Corriere della Sera, the two met in 2007 during a disco evening. “A good relationship, I didn’t see any wrong signals”, says the woman answering questions from the public prosecutor Barbara Badellino. Five years later the couple got married “despite some misunderstandings, due to money problems”. The purchase of a house follows: “We decide to take out a mortgage, then to pay it off – she points out – with a loan given by her mother”. But the idyll soon ends.
The beginning of the discussions
The problems, the woman recalls, came with the birth of her daughter: “It was a bit of a difficult period, I have an important job, and I was about to be promoted.” At the beginning of 2019, he had some problems with the company where he worked and was laid off, while the career of her takes off. Thus began the first discussions “for economic issues”. Already previously, according to the prosecution, there had been an attack: “We were in the car together, returning from the parents’ house, and he punched me on the leg. – the forty-year-old reports to the judges of the first criminal section – I made a report, but after two weeks I withdrew it because he felt guilty.”
The alleged mistreatment
The situation degenerates when the couple decides to move house, turning on a mutual of 200 thousand euros for the purchase of a two-family house. “I got my first promotion, and he accused me that I only thought about work, that the house was crap, that I didn’t support him enough. – the woman’s story continues – He screamed, he told me: ‘Because of you I’m full of debt , you only think about work.’ I stayed there and didn’t know what to do.” The couple decides to separate but remain in the same relationship due to an economic issue. She doesn’t deny being afraid: “I went to a lawyer and to the anti-violence centre.” Despite the separation, tensions increase at home: “he threatened to kill me if I took the little girl away from him. She reproached me for not cleaning the house”.
The defense of the ex-husband
At the height of an argument in which the man allegedly threatened to kill his ex-wife if he no longer showed her girl, the woman left home. He rejects her accusations: “I never said I would kill her.” Then the attack on the ex: “The lady has always had a very serious psychological problem, an obsessive compulsive disorder, she argued with everyone. And the most disgusting thing was using the child.” The accused, following the judge’s decision to entrust the child to her mother, can see her daughter once a week. “I paid the mortgage until 2018, then I couldn’t do it anymore”, he says, turning to the president of the College. Instead, the woman feels relieved: “I haven’t received any messages since last April: I’m sorry to say it, but I’m fine.”
