On June 19, 1947, the debut of the Tucker Torpedo car took place – one of the most original serial models in the USA. Talented designer Preston Thomas Tucker founded the Tucker Corporation in early 1946.
He managed to obtain empty production space at the Dodge plant in Chicago, which during the war produced engines for bombers. And the work is boiling.
The prototype was ready in the early months of 1947 and small-scale production soon began. Torpedo externally is quite different from the American cars of those years.
The coupe was designed by Alex Tremulis, former chief stylist of the solid Auburn-Cord-Dusenberg concern. A characteristic feature of the design is the third headlight in the very center of the front part. But the car is also interesting with many other details.
