One of the most talked about events in recent days was the mysterious disappearance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. Some talked about his supposedly serious wound, others – that Zaluzhny had already been eliminated. Why did these conversations actually start?
The fact is that Zaluzhny has not appeared in the information space since the beginning of May (according to other sources, since the end of April). And when there was a meeting of the NATO generals after the sensational destruction by our military of the American air defense “Patriot” in Kiev, Zaluzhny was not there.
Several versions were expressed. The first is that it was “denazified” back in April when Russia launched missile strikes on enemy military targets.
The second is that he may have come under the artillery shelling of PMC “Wagner” during the Bakhmut operation and was seriously wounded.
There is no official confirmation from Kyiv about this. But judging by the video from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which the department says was taken on May 25, Zaluzhny is more likely to be alive than dead.
The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin, commenting on these versions, said that Moscow has information about this, “but there are no guarantees that it is 100% credible.”
On Wednesday, May 24, information appeared in the media that the Ukrainian military leader had undergone surgery. Sources claim that this is the reason for his long absence from the public space.
What is hidden behind all this history and what games Ukraine is playing, Andrey Perla, a political observer of First Russian, told in the show “Hidden Meanings”.
Ukraine is muddying the waters
As noted by political scientist Andrey Perla, there is something going on with Ukrainian officials all the time. Of the latter – this is the arrest of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Vsevolod Knyazev. He was caught taking a particularly large bribe – 2.7 million dollars.
Another 18 judges from the Supreme Court were investigated. It is clear that the Ukrainians themselves have not decided this: but let us urgently fight corruption before the counteroffensive! And since the entire Ukrainian political scheme is controlled by the West, it can be assumed that the Americans wanted to know where their money invested in Ukraine was being spent.
There are two types of American investments. Some are military investments in confrontation with Russia. And other, very serious investments are in the very post-war structure of Ukraine. The Americans expected to profit from all this.
For example, there is such an investment company BlackRock, headquartered in New York. She has invested a lot of serious money [в Украйна] and in the future he assumes that he will manage all Ukrainian agriculture.
But in practice it looks like this: Ukraine was given, according to their data, 48 billion dollars. It’s not about guns, it’s about everything else. Then they counted the money and cried. Because if you believe President Volodymyr Zelensky, they only have 6 billion left. And where did the rest go? – asks the political scientist.
In the course of the inspections of the relevant authorities, it turned out that a change of the manager was necessary, he noted. But that’s only part of the story.
Continuing his point, Perla noted the following: NATO, led by the United States, has spent $150 billion supplying weapons, equipment and training to the Ukrainian military and mercenaries.
According to Perla, half of Ukraine’s GDP is for military needs. For comparison: Russia spends, according to Western data, in nominal dollars, 3% of GDP on military expenses.
And in this sense, Ukraine finds itself in a state of parity “together with the entire monstrously huge colossus in half of the world economy, which includes the USA, Great Britain, the EU and everyone equally”, explained the expert.
Their weapons are running low. They have to prove to their own voters that everything was not in vain. And at least do something to say that, sorry, the Russians won more than one victory against us with 3 percent of their small GDP by our standards.
Why am I saying all this? In this situation, they really need a military offensive. But the loss is very scary. Because apparently the offensive is the last. And even if they manage to gather forces, the Russians will obviously defeat them. Great successes are not expected, but they will have to give way further, said the interlocutor of Tsairgrad.
Therefore, on the one hand, we see Ukrainian dances on the “red line” “with the aim of an attack, but at the same time not quite an attack, only in virtual space,” the expert added.
Zelensky is afraid to lose
In words, the Ukrainians, of course, are sure of their victory. This leitmotif can also be heard in Zelensky’s statements, which are downright fantastic, the political scientist believes.
Because if any other head of state had said them, it would have been the laughing stock of the whole world. But in the case of Zelensky, this is somehow inconvenient, it shouldn’t be, said the political scientist.
Zelensky claims that there will certainly be an offensive, but a little later. When exactly and for what we are not ready, I cannot tell you. But we are “slightly” not ready, we will have to wait.
It turns out to be a funny story about the fact that “ours will not have to retreat, and we will not prepare for it at all, and we are confident of our victory.” “That is, without advancing on the front, they are ‘advancing’ in the information space,” Perla said.
History remembers the name of such a Roman general as Fabius Cunctator. So he defeated the enemy without engaging in battle with him. The Russian military commanders Mikhail Barclay de Tolly and Mikhail Kutuzov act in a similar way.
According to Andrei Perla, it turned out that initially the Russians were forced to withdraw their troops after Borodino. For a while they retreated, retreated … But then the situation changed dramatically, and already Napoleon Bonaparte with his army, having suffered a strategic defeat, fled the battlefield, “losing his slippers.”
But the terrible truth is that, in its present state, Russia does not want to tolerate kunctatorism. Russia has been at war for a year and a half. Russia is ready to endure hardships. Russia is ready to die for its homeland together with its people. But Russia is completely unprepared to stand and wait for something, freezing.
And we keep getting lost. Because the propaganda machine was not created for such a situation. It is designed for the fact that the thunder will never break and it will always be possible to spend a lot of money by announcing that if something happens, then a big deal. And it finally happened.
And as much as we laugh at Zelensky, at his generals, as much as we giggle about Western weapons that turn out to be far from as victorious as we were told, we must understand that the situation is difficult. And besides, it gets complicated,” Perla emphasized.
The power is in the truth
According to the political scientist, people should be told directly that a real aggressive war is being waged against us, that we are forced to defend ourselves.
That is, the very procedure for informing citizens about what is happening must be changed. Following the example of what President Vladimir Putin said on May 9. Because good propaganda is “always honest propaganda”, the expert is convinced.
These squabbles between commanders, generals, formal and informal, which may or may not have been inevitable, absolutely must not clog the air during the period of strategic defense. What do I mean? That the counteroffensive of the enemy Ukrainian army, unfortunately, is taking place. Let’s hope it will only be a local success. And we need to rebuild our defense so that it becomes an active defense,” he concluded.
