For months, now even years, international media have been speculating about Kylian Mbappe’s move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid. At the end of the season, the deal could go through without a transfer, as the Frenchman’s contract expires. Lionel Messi is now waiting on the subject.
“The truth is, I don’t know,” the Argentine told the sports newspaper Mark. “Only he knows what he’s got in his head and what he’s going to do.” Mbappe has been largely keeping a low profile on the issue since his transfer failed late in the summer transfer window. “All I can say is that I’m glad he stayed with us this year,” said Messi. After all, Mbappe is an important player for PSG’s goals.
“His head is 100 percent on our goals”
The noble club want to win the Champions League for the first time, for that it will need the full offensive power of Messi, Mbappe and Neymar. “His head is 100 percent on our goals. And then at the end of the season he will decide what happens. The truth is: I don’t know what will happen then,” said Messi. In fact, Mbappe will be able to sign a preliminary contract from January 1st without Real Madrid (or any other interested party) having to contact PSG.
Mbappe speaks “perfect” Spanish
The fact that the striker waits until the end of the season, sometimes taking the risk of long-term injury, must be considered unlikely. The assumption is that the decision for Real Madrid has been in place for a long time. Mbappe should find his way around there quickly, at least Messi confirms that his strike partner speaks “perfect” Spanish. “But he can speak everything: Spanish, English and of course French …” I mean: Messi still hopes to stay with Mbappe.
