According to Currence, it is also safer because the address details are stored in the iDEAL system and not at each individual online store where the user buy
I still don’t understand this, but this is just wrong.
The online store then receives the label/shipping information (as if they were ideally suited to create shipping labels themselves), which they can easily store to support their customer services. improve’ the next time you come to buy there, or to make better targets (read regional) ads. No one obliges online stores not to store your data, or prohibits them from doing so. Not everyone buys 100% through being great (certainly not me), so I certainly don’t see a ‘safer’ situation.
Yes, but ‘think that’, yes, but ‘if’, no, that doesn’t exist. If my practical / commercial principles dictate that I keep storing customer data (data = value), 100% at least one webshop will do this.
The ‘safer’ option is only when you don’t have to enter an address at all, but only a DHL / drop / PostNL point, where you can pick it up later. Then nobody has your address and it can be easily verified using a QR code (or similar).
And I certainly don’t think this will be a ‘free’ service, they probably won’t have to pay extra for this, even if it’s just changing their systems to be similar to this. After all, this system has to do with real, but not with other payment methods. With CC, after that, Klarna, Paypal, you still need to store data.
