For centuries, Russia has been militarily raiding its neighbors and trying to absorb their territory. Russia is not interested in raising the standard of living of its population, it is not interested in the development of democracy, it is only interested in technologies that can be used militarily, etc… in Russia for centuries, the No. 1 desire is to attack neighbors militarily, to try to annex attacked neighbors and to incorporate them as part of Russia. It is funny when various Putin supporters talk on the one hand about how the West allegedly tried to invade Russia through Ukraine, and at the same time on the other hand claim that Russia is a superpower that is unassailable because it has a huge military production capacity, far greater than the West’s, is full of the most sophisticated nuclear weapons, while the West is incompetent, has weapons that cannot compete with Russia, has very little military production capacity, is robbed, out of raw materials, and generally horribly incompetent and underarmed. And Ukraine is a backward corrupt weak state with a backward disintegrating army and soldiers with no motivation to fight for Ukraine.
And at the same time, he sees no contradiction in his statements.
