Bohemian Rhapsody is a celebration of the rock band Queen, their music and especially Freddie Mercury, one of the most prominent artists in the world. The film hit theaters in 2018 and the audience broke records. But the real fans of the band were not pleasantly surprised. It also discusses the acquaintance of members, their lives and the breakup of the band. What mistakes did the filmmakers make?
The story of Jim Huton
In the film, Freddie Mercury is interested in a waiter after one of the parties Jima Hutonawhich cleans up clutter for guests. The music legend tries to seduce him, but the waiter rejects him, saying that he will be there for him only when he will respect himself more.
But the reality was completely different. Jim Hutton was not a waiter, but a hairdresser. WITH Freddie Mercury met at a nightclub. But the truth is, once Freddie found inner peace, he sought out Hutton, who then stayed with him until the real end.
Freddie left Hutton more than half a million pounds and thought he and Mary they will take care of his legacy together. That’s what it looks like in the film: the two make friends at the closely watched Live Aid concert, where Freddie excelled in front of a crowded stadium.
But within three months, Mary Austin dislocated her loved Jim from Mercury’s Kensington headquarters, which she inherited. Even though Freddie wanted the exact opposite.
Mercury and his disease
Freddie is diagnosed with HIV in the film when he is going through the worst stage of depression. The diagnosis opened his eyes, changed his lifestyle, and he returned to his group and, in fact, to everyone who loved him.
This mistake angered the fans. In fact, the legend did not learn of his illness until April 1987, two years after the Live Aid show.
Freddie a Mary Austin
After Freddie meets Brian May and Roger Taylor after the performance of the band Smile, he also meets a beautiful blonde named Mary Austin. However, their meeting was a coincidence only on the screen.
In reality, they only met when the group was formed, and Mary was originally a friend of Maya. Apparently, Mercury even asked May if she could even invite Mary Austin on a date. Contrary to the filmmakers’ imaginations, he never broke up with Mary Austin, the wife of his life, who was otherwise full of homosexual acquaintances. She even stood at his deathbed.
Acquaintance of members?
The film shows Freddie Mercury at a concert the group Smile addresses Briana Maye a Rogera Taylora. He asks them to take him among themselves.
In fact, he met them at college and shared an apartment with May before joining the group.
Group breakup
The filmmakers show an event that never happened.
Freddie was offered a $ 4 million contract to embark on a solo career. The other members took it badly and their relationship began to crumble.
In fact, the group never disbanded. There was a break in her career dating back to 1983, when Freddie was in decadent Munich and the band members worked on their own projects.
