Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Fatwa Secretary at the Egyptian House of Ifta, Sheikh Muhammad Kamal, commented on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, (May God curse the one who performs adultery and the one who performs adultery).
He said during the “People’s Fatwas” program, broadcast on “Al-Nas” channel: that many people have a misconception that a woman who approaches her eyebrows will be cursed.
He added that the hadith is not meant to be cursed at all, citing the lady Aisha, the mother of the believers, who a woman came to her and told her that she adorned herself for her husband, and trimmed some of her eyebrows, so she replied: Do and you will be rewarded.
And he continued: “The woman who is forbidden from adornment is the woman whose husband died during the waiting period, which is a period of worship, and here types of adornment are prohibited, including taking from the eyebrows, as well as the woman who removes the eyebrows completely, or the woman who tries to do so in order to seduce men, but A woman who adorns herself for her husband is permissible and will be rewarded for that.
