On Friday, August 21, in Riga, Imanta, a truck hit a pensioner, who lost his life from the injuries. The woman pushed the bicycle while crossing the carriageway, reports the program “Degpunkta”.
In Riga, on Buļļu Street, a truck ran into a woman near the gas station territory. The lady died at the scene of a serious injury. The cause of the accident is the possibility that the driver did not see the lady because she had entered the “blind spot” of the truck.
An eyewitness to the accident, Kristaps, says that the lady crossed the pedestrian crossing by pushing the bicycle. At that moment, the truck was maneuvering without noticing the lady. “He crossed over and at that moment he felt that something was wrong. Then stopped. I tried to trumpet, to warn somehow, but he didn’t hear or how, ”says the driver.
The driver of the truck told the police: “I stopped there to run the cars. She probably figured out the way for me to cross. I was standing right by the road. I looked left, right, ”he said.
