The Troy Messenger – Celebrity Land

Seth Parker is set to open a new business venture on Thursday.

Parker, the owner of B. Graves in the downtown plaza, will open The Warehouse on Market on Thursday afternoon. He said The Warehouse is an event venue that will provide a comfortable environment for all ages.

“We are serving the same demographic as B. Graves,” Parker said. “We are going to be an elegant establishment where people can come and have a drink and mingle and mingle.”

Parker said B. Graves had been successful in organizing events, but was unable to organize large-scale events because he did not have the space. He said he started looking for options a couple of years ago and was finally able to work out a deal to locate at 200 Market St. in downtown Troy.

Parker said The Warehouse is primarily an event venue that will be able to host larger events, from private parties and weddings to high school proms. He said the hours will be Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to around midnight. Parker said that on nights when there are no events scheduled, The Warehouse will be open to the public.

“We have a really nice website, thewarehouseonmarket.com, where people can see a calendar of events,” Parker said. “People can check what events we have next and if the place will be closed. We will also have live music and people can request tickets in advance so they don’t have to queue at the door. “

Parker said one of The Warehouse’s greatest assets is its outdoor space. Parker said the south side of the building has a fenced in grass area with a patio and a gate that opens onto the street.

“We have a lot of ideas for this space,” Parker said. “We thought about installing a big projection screen and having a movie night for the families. We could have a barbecue, a crawfish boil or other events.

“We have it hooked up for the food trucks to come in and set up. We also want to be able to give back to other companies, so we will allow them to come and attend events here as well. We’re offering Troy something that isn’t here yet. “

Parker said Troy had supported him in his business endeavors and wanted to return the favor.

“The City of Troy has been very supportive of downtown businesses,” Parker said. “That gave us the confidence to open. Now is the time to do this.

“I am also a huge supporter of urban centers. I want to be part of the growth of the city. The focus on growth has really been around the plaza. But now it’s starting to spread to other downtown areas. And I want to be part of that growth. ”

The Warehouse on Market will hold a ribbon cutting on Thursday afternoon at 4 pm and will open at 5 pm The Park Band will perform live on Thursday night.
