The trophy didn’t fall in the wind; Williamson handshake

Wellington: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson grabbed the trophy which would have fallen in the wind. Hardik Pandya of India and New Zealander Kane Williamson were posing for a photo with the T20 series winner’s trophy when the wind unexpectedly turned up. The board on which the cup was placed shook, followed by the trophy.

But Williamson grabbed his hand before falling. There was even a laughing comment that said “I want the trophy.” Hardik Pandya was laughing too. The series consists of three T20Is and ODIs each. The first T20 is in Wellington on Friday. Reports are also emerging that rain may play a role in the match.

Meanwhile, India’s first training session before the series has been completed. When the players, including Sanju Samson, went out for training, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant’s batsman was most conspicuous. VVS coach Laxman spent a lot of time in the net with Rishabh in bad form. Pant was a huge failure in the T20 World Cup. Ball was unable to capitalize on any opportunities.

The Indian team, led by Hardik Pandya, trained for three hours. BCCI shared images of this in mass media. In the absence of head coach Rahul Dravid, India are coached by National Cricket Academy head VVS Laxman. Along with the senior players, Dravid was also given the rest.
