The trick with the number 15 and the friendship of MRF and GERB – Elections 2021

“Many voters voted with the conviction that Karadayi was running in the run-off at number 15,” said a member of the election commission in the Bursa region.

The outcome of the presidential election did not surprise anyone. As well as the MRF’s support for GERB, despite unsuccessful attempts to cover it up. As unsuccessful as the attempts of two colleagues to hide their secret relationship, when the whole office has long known that they have an affair.

The screen finally fell

“MRF supporters again tried to accompany the voters to the machines and” help “them to vote, but again I did not allow them,” a member of an election commission in the Bursa region told Deutsche Welle. “However, we encountered another problem – many voters voted with the conviction that Mustafa Karadayi was running in the run-off at number 15.”

And indeed: for Karadayi’s supporters in Turkey, the preferred choice of the runoff turned out to be number 15. However, their votes did not go for the MRF leader, but for GERB-backed Anastas Gerdjikov. He received more than 92% of the vote cast there on November 21, albeit at a much lower turnout than in the first round. Mustafa Karadayi was the choice of 95% of the voters in Bulgaria’s southern neighbor. And in the run-off in Bulgaria itself, Prof. Gerdjikov has supremacy only in Kardzhali, traditionally defined as a “bastion of the MRF”.

During the election day, the MRF press center informed us that the honorary chairman of the party, Ahmed Dogan, had voted 15 minutes before eight o’clock, and the party leader, Mustafa Karadayi, had voted 15 minutes after 11 o’clock.

Dozens of similar allusions and direct appeals from local organizations and MRF supporters on social media campaigned in the week before the vote in support of Anastas Gerdjikov and Nevyana Miteva.

The scenes are so transparent that they are no longer useful

We did not understand whether and at what time the MRF MP Delyan Peevski voted in the elections yesterday, but we can guess what his preferences were. However, GERB leader Boyko Borissov described him as a “strong, serious man” with whom “we have mutual respect”.

Did Borisov accidentally utter these flattering words about Peevski only three days before the November 14 elections? We can only guess, but mutual sympathy is evident. As well as the friendship between GERB and MRF. But why do the representatives of the two parties think that this friendship continues to take place behind the scenes? They are so transparent that they are now completely useless.
