The treatment bill for the deceased “Umm Zahra” leads her daughter to trial

Despite the death of “Umm Zahra” a month after she entered a private hospital, as a result of her breast cancer, which spread to the brain and liver, the value of the bill owed by her daughter amounted to 362 thousand and 455 dirhams.

The hospital administration went to court to demand the amount due from the daughter of the deceased, while the daughter appealed to people with compassionate hearts to help her secure the required amount.

The daughter recounted that she had to admit her mother to the emergency department in a private hospital, due to her severe suffering and ill health, where she underwent several medical examinations, and it was found that she was suffering from breast cancer.

She added that the concerned hospital doctors decided to admit her to the intensive care unit, where she underwent chemotherapy.

The daughter confirmed that she had searched for another hospital to reduce costs, but she was surprised that the prices were similar, especially in chemotherapy, adding that her mother underwent a mastectomy and another brain surgery to remove part of the tumor.

And she added that she used to transfer her to the hospital whenever her health condition worsened, pointing out that a charitable organization was helping her to secure treatment costs.

The daughter explained that her mother’s health condition had deteriorated greatly in the recent period, and that she underwent several medical examinations and analyzes to find out the map of the spread of the disease in her body, and it was found that it affected the liver. She added that her health deteriorated further, and she suffered severely from an enlarged liver, so her doctors decided to keep her under medical observation, to spend a whole month in the hospital, but she died after that as a result of the disease worsening in her body.

She added, “The value of the medical bill is 362,455 dirhams, which is an amount that far exceeds my modest financial capabilities, and the problem is that I was forced to sign commitments to pay, which prompted the hospital administration to file a case against me, in court, to find myself required to pay this large amount, while not I know what to do in light of the circumstances I am going through. My family consists of five members, and none of us work, and we have no income except for the aid we get from charitable people and some associations. I appeal to good people and people with merciful hearts to help me pay the medical bill incurred by my deceased mother.
