Jerez de la Frontera
The Cádiz Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Center (CTTC) has made a special call for citizens to come and donate blood at its fixed points in Cádiz and Jerez. Due to inclement weather, the CTTC has had to cancel all collections scheduled for this Thursday in the province, so to maintain a sufficient level of reserves, this special notice is made to the population of Cádiz and Jerez.
As explained by the Board in a note, in the province of Cádiz 180 donors are needed every day to meet the transfusion demand. The only way to achieve this is to have enough people donating blood on a regular basis and to recruit new donors.
Among the requirements to donate blood, you must be between 18 and 65 years of age, weigh at least 50 kilograms and be in good health. Men can go up to four times a year and women three, with a minimum interval of two months between donations.
The Board has indicated that people can go to the fixed points in Cádiz, at the Puerta del Mar Hospital, and Jerez, at Hospital de Jerez, this Friday from 9 in the morning to 9 at night, and on Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
