The Putin of 2023 is a completely different person than the Putin of 2022, emphasized political strategist Sergei Gaidai.
Of course, Putin is not winning the war with Ukraine, but he is not losing it either. If the leader of the Russian Federation realized that he was losing, he would begin to think about how to get out of the situation, sit down at the negotiating table and, perhaps, demand some kind of guarantees from the West. But since the Russian Federation does not lose on the battlefield, in Putin’s head it is perceived as if he is winning.
This opinion expressed Ukrainian political strategist Sergei Gaidai in an interview with Evgeniy Kiselev for the YouTube channel “News Factory”.
“Of course, I saw Putin’s press conference, – said the expert. – And there he radiated confidence. Moreover, notice how The Putin of 2023 is different from the Putin of 2022. Last year, he canceled this press conference altogether because he didn’t feel even close to winning. Then ineverything failed and everything was bad. Now He behaves very confidently.”
Moreover, the leader of the Russian Federation even allowed a cunning move to be made during the “Direct Line”, which consisted in the fact that very inconvenient questions appeared on the board, and he simply did not answer them. This was necessary so that no one would accuse him of the staged nature of the event, Gaidai explained.
Let us remember that Sergei Gaidai commented on Zelensky’s words about the “final stage of the war”: “Everything has changed.”
Sergei Gaidai also said that our enemy today is not the same as before: “I have friends near Avdiivka.”
