The Traitors Season 2 Finale: Betrayals, Scheming, and a Shocking Twist
The highly anticipated Season 2 finale of The Traitors delivered on its promise of betrayals, scheming, and a shocking twist that left viewers on the edge of their seats. With spoilers ahead, let’s dive into the thrilling conclusion of this reality TV game show.
Coming into this week’s episode, tensions were high as the remaining contestants battled it out to secure their spot in the final round. Kate Chastain, the last remaining saboteur and former Below Deck alum, was feeling the pressure. After being brought into the “Turret of Zero plans” by Real Housewives star Phaedra Parks and then abandoned, Kate had to clean up the mess on her own. To make matters worse, her personal dig at Phaedra during last week’s roundtable left some questioning her loyalty. Would Kate be able to convince everyone to keep her around, or would the Faithfuls prevail?
This season of The Traitors introduced a new twist by featuring only reality TV stars, which immediately divided the castle into factions. On one side, there were the Bravo-lebrities like Kate, Phaedra, Shahs of Sunset star Mercedes “MJ” Javid, and former Real Housewife Shereé Whitfield. On the other side, there was everyone else. The dynamics between the contestants were complex, with alliances being tested and some crumbling under the pressure.
Kate’s first move was to eliminate her Bravo ally Shereé in an attempt to lay suspicion to rest. However, Shereé saw through Kate’s plan and correctly deduced that it was Kate who had betrayed her. As the game progressed, alliances were tested even further, and Kate found herself targeted by Sandra, CT, and Trishelle. But Kate had a few tricks up her sleeve.
In a van ride back from the mission, Kate wasted no time in trying to frame Sandra to CT. She expertly threw the heat back on CT, implying that he had been shopping Sandra around for banishment. This move shook CT’s confidence and prompted Sandra to suggest voting out CT instead. Kate’s plotting managed to take her through to the end, with everyone ultimately voting out Sandra.
The final mission was a grueling challenge that tested the contestants’ physical and mental strength. They had to navigate Scottish cliffs, collect flags for extra money, and raise a sail on Alan Cumming’s sailboat to win the prize. Despite the intense competition, the group managed to complete the mission just in time, earning a total of $208,100 out of a possible $250,000.
But the scheming didn’t stop there. As soon as they returned to the castle, alliances were once again put to the test. Kate found herself in a deadlock with CT and Trishelle, who briefly picked the wrong person to vote out. In a tiebreaker, CT and Trishelle voted out MJ, leaving her heartbroken.
The episode ended with CT and Trishelle celebrating their victory, each taking home $104,050. When asked about their fallen comrade MJ, neither of them showed any remorse. CT admitted he wasn’t willing to take a chance on anybody, while Trishelle claimed they had always planned to go to the end together.
Looking back on the season, it’s interesting to note that CT and MJ apparently had a strong friendship that wasn’t shown on screen. Kate revealed in an interview that CT was good at building relationships and gaining friends, which might have played a role in his success.
With the season reunion approaching, viewers can expect more drama and revelations from this cast of big TV personalities. The Traitors Season 2 finale delivered an intense and thrilling conclusion that left fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter of this captivating reality TV game show.
