Given the success of participation in the first edition of the course and the employment outcome that followed, at the end of November, at the Sondrio branch of APFValtellina, the second edition of the Training Course for Dental Practice Assistant will begin in collaboration with ANDI (National Association of Italian Dentists – Sondrio branch). In-person lessons for registered students will take place in a professional practice room, equipped with modern and functional equipment, such as the chair for carrying out dental treatments and devices for sterilizing instruments.
Training Course for Dental Practice Assistant
The course will be held by industry professionals, selected by ANDI, and by qualified teachers from APFValtellina. The lessons will cover topics on hygiene, chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology, anatomy and physiology, as well as sociology and psychology.
The training course, lasting a total of 700 hours in the period between November 2024 and May 2025, will allow students to acquire skills on the reception of assisted people, on setting up spaces and equipment for dental treatments, on assistance to dentist and on the processing of clinical and administrative-accounting documentation.
In addition to the theoretical and practical lessons carried out in the classroom, there is an internship, supervised by a tutor, of 400 hours (included in the 700 total hours of the course), which can be carried out both in dental practices chosen by the trainees and in practices specifically selected by ANDI Sondrio headquarters, compatibly with the places of residence of those enrolled in the Course.
The Course also includes the attendance of an additional BLSD (Basic Life Support Defribillation) module, aimed at providing the basic teachings of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and early defibrillation for the rescue of subjects suffering from heart attacks, and also a training module in matters of health and safety at work.
The current legislation provides that to access the course, participants must be at least 18 years of age and have fulfilled the obligation to have the right and duty to professional education and training in accordance with current legislation.
At the end of the training course, after passing an exam, the Certificate of Professional Qualification for Dental Practice Assistant will be issued, valid throughout the national territory.
