Be true to yourself and roam in the small world.

This time I have been calling for taxis in Rome, but I have never taken the bus. They do not have a real Uber, and the taxis are not standardized, which is very inconvenient. When we left the hotel, the front desk called a car for us, and the car arrived in a short while. It’s troublesome when I come back. I often can’t call a taxi using the app. When I’m stopped on the road, the taxi driver either refuses to take me, says he doesn’t use the meter, or charges twice as much. It’s much more convenient in the UK. Black taxi can be hailed with a wave of your hand, but it’s a little more expensive. London‘s subway is also very convenient. You don’t need to buy tickets or bus cards. You can just swipe it with an ordinary credit card. We took it once. Uber is also very convenient to order in London. This time, because I was going to Cambridge to see Xu Zhimo, I took the train.

I really like London’s double-decker buses. The bus stop is just two or three minutes’ walk from the hotel door. You don’t need to buy a ticket or use a bus card, just swipe it with an ordinary credit card. There aren’t many people, it’s always empty, and you can go up to the second floor to enjoy the scenery, haha, but it’s a bit slow, and if you sit in the last row, you’ll feel a little dizzy if you look too much.

One rainy day, I drove for a while and saw people standing begging on the road just like in the United States. I felt that it was quite dangerous on the road.

This time I went to an Internet celebrity spot. You must still remember the dispute between the Chinese little pink and the British piano at the beginning of the year. Blog friend diaoerlang was the first to leave a message on my blog.

I often see messages from Dr. Brendan Kavanagh on Facebook now. The train station I went to at St. Pancras Station in England this time was where he played the piano.

It is said that the piano was originally a project launched by British artist Luke Jerram in 2012, and anyone can step up and play a piece at any time. Passengers passed by, stopped to listen, and applauded and encouraged. So when Dr. Brendan Kavanagh encountered Chinese pink and asked him to delete the video, it was incredible. Indeed, I also feel that the train station there is just a public place, bustling with people coming and going, and no one pays much attention to anyone else. If you mind, you can take a detour.

The video of the piano incident went viral on the Internet, arousing strong reactions from all walks of life and becoming a major international incident at the beginning of the year.

By the way, Lang Lang also played there: https://stpancras.com/art-music-filming/filming

St. Pancras Station is not only a transportation hub, but also a symbol of Victorian engineering technology. The appearance is gorgeous and full of history and culture. It is the starting point for Eurostar from the UK to the European continent through an undersea tunnel. It mainly serves international lines. From here, you can directly reach Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and many other tourist cities. The train station was built in 1868 and was named St. Pancras Station in the 2000s.

When approaching St. Pancras Station, the first thing that catches your eye is the towering bell tower. The red brick building complements the gorgeous Gothic details. The station looks like a charming castle, as if you have entered another world. The station is known as the “Railway Cathedral” because of its grandeur. Before Brexit, consumers also rated it as the European station with the best passenger experience.

The spacious hall, with its spectacular vaults and towering windows, lets in sunlight that illuminates the entire space.

Thanks to the efforts of the British poet and writer Sir John Betjeman, the railway station was preserved. But I’m not too familiar with this poet and writer, maybe Mushroom can tell us more about it. 🙂

The Meeting Place sculpture was once rated as the most romantic meeting place in the world.

Most of the passengers here are not commuting to work every day, but more on business trips, cross-border vacations, etc., so the atmosphere is relatively relaxed and comfortable.

The train station is very famous and has been filmed in many movies, such as “Harry Potter”, “Sherlock” and “The Crown Season 2”. The fictional platform “Platform 9¾” that appeared in “Harry Potter” is here and can take you on a magical journey. There is also a Harry Potter souvenir shop next to it. Blogger Tiger and “Harry Potter” fans must check it out. 🙂

“Harry Potter” attractions can often be seen on the streets of London. This is a theater we passed on the way.

Next to St. Pancras Station is the St Pancras Renaissnce Hotel, a Marriott hotel. Manhattan Loft, a well-known British builder, spent eight years and 200 million pounds to transform the ancient building into a hotel full of Renaissance style. It felt like I had really arrived in the Renaissance era. Due to time constraints, I didn’t have time to go to Florence this time.

Look up, take a picture

As soon as you walk into the lobby, you are struck by its gorgeous Victorian style. The high vaults, exquisite carvings and elegant lamps in the lobby seemed to take me back to the 19th century. The furniture is elegantly decorated, retaining the historical charm while incorporating modern comfort. The hotel’s corridors and public areas have exquisite paintings hanging on the walls, full of artistic flair. There are some small art installations in the corners, giving the feeling of being in a gallery.

Another train station to be introduced here is King’s Cross Station in London, which is next to St. Pancras Station when we go to Cambridge. It shares a subway station with St. Pancras Station, but the route is completely different.

King’s Cross Station was built in 1852 and combines Victorian architectural style with modern design elements. This transportation hub is not only an important station to all parts of the UK, but also a part of London culture. The station has trains to York, Cambridge, Edinburgh and other places.

It was raining that day, typical London weather. The two windbreakers and raincoats I brought came in handy. It seems that local people always carry umbrellas with them when they go out. The most classic one is probably the British gentleman holding a stick umbrella. My English teacher who studied in England at university was like this, hahaha.

There are many small vendors outside the station, selling various breads, biscuits, etc. and handicrafts.

The performance of the street performers attracted so many passers-by that I forgot to take photos.

Does anyone know what this photo means? Guess and win prizes! 🙂

I really like reading Phil’s travel notes. The animations are really good. Phil’s clothes and hats are very beautiful and elegant when traveling.

Mayfair looked at it very carefully. I took the Eurostar at St. Pancras Station and arrived in Paris. I didn’t even remember what it was like. I relived it with Mayfair. I like London, but I need to bring more clothes next time I go there, it feels cold even in summer.

The outside building of St. Pancras Station is a bit like a cathedral, and the inside is more like a gorgeous palace, giving people a refreshing feeling.

Mayfair is a goddess, and I will do the touching work for you, but I have to write a script in advance. The momentum must be greater than the man’s “Don’t touch her!”, hahaha… It’s so fun to travel around London with Mayfair! Thanks for sharing!

I also went to London to stay for three days before boarding the cruise ship this spring, but I was afraid of encountering something unpleasant, so I bypassed the station. How brave I am!

I remember what Fei’er mentioned about the affair. Afterwards, it was found out what the background of that person was. Maybe there might be some benefit to him by showing off desperately. But as soon as it spread on the Internet, it became a “negative example” -:) Coincidentally, my wife also passed by the Palace Theater where Harry Potter was shown more than a year ago. Mayfair saw so many places this time and the introduction was detailed. Thank you for sharing!

St. Pancras Station, Mayfair’s beautiful words and photos bring back wonderful memories. When Shuier was little, we went to the Harry Potter station to take photos and buy magic wands in the gift shop. At that time, people had to queue up, but I don’t know if there are still many people paying attention now. As for Sir John Betjeman, I am ashamed to say that I definitely don’t know as much as Phil. In addition to knowing that he contributed to the preservation of Victorian architecture, I have to ask Gugou for the rest.

Zanfeier is so happy! When we get to that train station, we should find something to do to make a difference. That would be called “perfect”! O(∩_∩)O haha~

The architecture of St. Pancras Station is beautiful and spectacular!

Still remember the piano incident, “Don’t touch her!”. Hahaha, that was deafening. We saw both of those stations, but we just didn’t have time to go in. Let me make up for my regrets with Mayfair. No return visit is necessary. I have no new articles.

Mayfair writes so well. We took the Eurostar train to Paris at St. Pancras Station in 2015. Because the waiting time was 4 hours, we stopped by and were immediately attracted by its gorgeous and spectacular scenery. There are a dazzling array of shops and restaurants in the station, and there is a romantic atmosphere everywhere. It’s a pity that after I came back, I didn’t finish writing my London travel notes, and I didn’t express my nostalgia for the station. I watched the video of Little Pink vs. Dr. Brendan Kavanagh many times. At that time, I felt that it was really embarrassing for the Chinese people. The male protagonist looked similar to Rui Chenggang and had a bigger temper.

These photos are so beautiful, I really like the style in the rain:) Sure enough, the United States is really a cultural desert in comparison.
