The trailer / article of Aika Karapetyan’s feature film “Sema Travels” has been published

The worldwide distribution rights of director Aika Karapetjan’s new feature film “Sema Travels” have been acquired by the film distributor “LevelK” from Denmark, announcing it on the portal “Deadline” and at the same time making the film an international trailer. –

According to the film, “LevelkK” will start distributing the film at the “Fantastic Fest” festival of the “genre film” in the USA, which will take place in Austin from September 23 to 30, and whose official program includes the film “Sema Travels”.

“Sema ceļojumi” is a Latvian-Belgian co-production film produced by the Latvian film studio Mistrus Media in cooperation with the Belgian company Polar Bear and financed by the National Film Center and the State Cultural Capital Fund on the Latvian side.

The film “Sema Travels” tells the story of a Belgian Sam who is going to a remote Eastern European place to look for his father. However, the quest brings him into a world he has never experienced before. As a result of unexpected changes in the situation, Sam falls into the captivity of a peasant family, from which, as it turns out, only a small piglet can save him.

“The film is a tale for adults about our false and deceptive ideas about the people we meet in our lifetime or the events we encounter. We often have to go through many hurricanes to come to simple truths, for example, if we want to be loved, we must take care of each other. The inspiration for the film came from the Greek myth of the magician Kirki, so one of the film’s main characters got her name. According to legend, she turned Odyssey’s companions into pigs, urging Odysseus to stay with her and accept her love. As a filmmaker, I had a great opportunity to use different types of original cinematic techniques to talk about classic themes such as love, freedom, hate, jealousy at the same time. When creating the film, we wanted to create our own special world with its own unique rules, ”said film director Aiks Karapetjans before the film’s world premiere in the United States.

An international distributor with a name is the success and appreciation of each film at the same time, ”emphasized the film’s producer Gints Grūbe.

The main role in the film is played by the Belgian actor Kevin Jansen, who has starred in such films as director Coral Ferge’s “Revenge” and Christian Volkman’s “Secret Room”, which have previously been shown in Latvian cinemas. Latvian actors such as Laura Siliņa, Aigars Vilims, Juris Bartkevičs, Normunds Griestiņš play roles in the film. The cinematographer of the film is Jurģis Kmins, the main artist – Jurģis Krāsons, the make-up artist – Maija Gundare, the costume designer – Liene Dobrāja, the script of the film was created by Aiks Karapetjans and Aleksandrs Radionovs.
