This Thursday, around 1 p.m., the team of divers discovered in the canal not far from the Colruyt store, rue du Général-de-Gaulle in Laneuveville-devant-Nancy, the lifeless body of a young man of 26 years old. . A few hours before, a helicopter had been dispatched over the canal at very low altitude. Firefighters, police officers from the personal attack brigade, a dog team as well as the forensic police were also on site.

At around 3 a.m., a neighbor who had heard moans in the water called the police. A team of divers had been deployed, but investigations had come to nothing. This Thursday morning, a woman had warned the police of the disappearance during the night of her brother, aged 26, who was sleeping at her house.

When she woke up, without any news from him, she was particularly worried. The investigations therefore resumed a few tens of meters from the home. The young adult’s cap was found nearby and his body discovered soon after. A procedure to investigate the causes of death has been initiated. “The man found is perfectly identified and had a psychiatric past”, explained the public prosecutor. An autopsy will take place in the next few days. “For the moment, the preferred hypothesis is accidental drowning”.
