You can’t envy the guy’s fate.
In 2010, Russians learned about the Mowgli boy Zhenya Barsukov. He was 13 years old, but he looked only 9. This was the result of poor nutrition from a very young age. He wore torn clothes or no clothes at all, was covered in bruises and ate fruits with peels so as not to starve. Parents suffering from alcoholism brought the boy to this state. The child was taken from the family, and now Zhenya is already 26.
In the first years of Zhenya’s life, while his grandmother was alive, she took care of him. Although he had mental problems since childhood, he still developed and even achieved academic success. However, after the death of his grandmother, the boy became wild. The parents turned the apartment into a garbage dump and alcohol den, forgetting about Zhenya, who suffered from epilepsy and other neurological disorders. How Zhenya managed to survive in such conditions remains a mystery.
After the boy was taken to a boarding school, doctors and teachers began to take care of him, he became stronger and grew up. But, unfortunately, time was lost. Zhenya’s mental and mental development froze at the level of a 5-year-old child – at the age when his grandmother, who took care of him, died.
At 26 years old, Zhenya can speak, although her vocabulary does not correspond to her age. He can feed himself and loves to draw, play and do puzzles. However, he cannot live independently, since his adult body hides the consciousness of a child. Therefore, Zhenya will have to spend the rest of her life in a home for the disabled.
