Born in Paris in July 1980, Boris Roatta was a star in the making. At the age of eight, he was already appearing in the cinema, giving the reply to Michel Serrault and Guy Marchand in Bonjour l’angoisse by Pierre Tchernia. Two years later, we recognized him in the clip Little Franck by François Feldman. In 1992, he started a promising television career by landing one of the main roles in the TV movie. Sabine j’imagine, then by playing Frédéric, the son of Commissioner Moulin played by Yves Rénier on TF1. In 1993, after three episodes of the detective series, he gave the answer to Gérard Klein in an episode of The Institute and played David Marret in the TF1 summer saga High tides, where he gives the reply to Nicole Calfan and Bernard Le Coq. The young boy officiated at the same time at the theater, where he landed a role in the play The city of which the prince is a child the Henry de Montherlant.
It was also in the middle of dubbing that Boris Roatta had made a name for himself, by lending his voice to Disney characters. French voice of the unforgettable Polochon de The little Mermaid in 1989 then Cody in Bernard and Bianca in the land of kangaroos, he also voiced in the early 1990s Jussie Smollett (Empire) in the movie The Little Champions, Jake Gyllenhall dance Life, love, cows and also Macaulay Culkin in four feature films worn by the American child-star, including the first two parts of the saga Mom I missed the plane. Finally, he was the French voice of Michael Jackson played by Jason Weaver in the biographical miniseries The Jackson Family.
But on August 25, 1994, while cycling during his vacation, Boris Roatta was hit by a car on a usually deserted road in Aiguilles, in the Hautes-Alpes. Unfortunately, he did not survive this terrible accident, which occurred a month after his fourteenth birthday. In the eyes of the public, this disappearance was all the more tragic as the young teenager was considered a particularly talented actor with the promise of a great career. In Commissioner Moulin, his death was included in the scenario to justify his absence. In 2017, his father Philippe Roatta paid him a heartbreaking tribute by writing: “23 years ago, to the day, my life changed, and I had the worst day of my life… I cry just thinking about it. (…) The death of the child. There is no worse pain“.
