However, the great catastrophe that occurred, in reality, was during the filming of the last scene of the movie, in the nightclub “The Purgatoire” in the Hazmieh district in Beirut, although this club is located in Tel Aviv, according to the events of the film, and the scene was a bombing scene carried out by Fadi, in retaliation. To his comrades who were killed by the Israeli forces.
And when the director Gary Grabtian gave the signal to detonate the firecrackers and start filming the scene, a real big explosion occurred, which caused severe damage and a large fire in the filming location.
After that, it turned out that someone replaced the firecrackers with real explosives, and among those who died in the accident were producer Edmond Nahas, one of the founders of Nahas Studio in Egypt, actors Sami Attar and Mona Selim, photographer Sarkis Goghounian, as well as the owner of the nightclub George Ghosn and his niece Colette Nassif Abd. embankment.
Actress Mona Selim was severely and many injured in the bombing of the filming site of the movie “We are all Fedayeen”, and her entire body was mutilated, and she struggled with death for about a week, at the American University Hospital in Beirut, where she was receiving treatment, until she breathed her last.
Mona Selim had one acting job before “We are all fedayeen”, which is the movie “Meeting the Strangers”, which was also produced in 1968, in which Selim participated alongside the Egyptian actors Ahmed Mazhar and Maryam Fakhr El-Din, and the Syrian actor Rafik Subaie.
The beautiful young woman, Mona Selim, did not have a long life to participate in many acting works, but she cried millions with her departure, as she had won the title of Miss Lebanon in 1963, and charmed the audience with her wonderful features, but her dreams were extinguished early, because those with hateful hearts hate beauty that radiates light. , and are accustomed to living in ugliness and darkness.
